He began his Masonic journey in Alliance Lodge #183 fifty years ago, following his father and grandfather as Master Masons. He is also a member of Comet Lodge #229 in Ceresco, where he was Master in 2012, and Saints John Lodge #331. He is individually proficient.

Brother Merv is active in Lincoln Valley Scottish Rite where he is a member of the Century Club. He served as Knight Master of Knights of St. Andrew in 2011 and 2012; Wise Master of the Chapter of Rose Croix in 2013; Commander of Council of Kadosh in 2014; Venerable Master of the Lodge of Perfection in 2015; Past Master of Kadosh in Consistory. He has enjoyed being chairman of the Feast of Tishri for 7 years, chairman of Robert Burns Night for 6 years, and chairing the St. Patty’s Day fundraiser for 3 years. He and his wife Sharon have prepared the meals for the monthly meetings for 7 years.
Education is very important to Brother Merv. He has completed the Master Craftsman Courses #1, #2 and #3, and has taught classes to other members taking the courses. Merv has also completed the Guthrie College of the Consistory course.
He became a member of Royal Order of Scotland in 2009 and was invested as a Knight Commander of the Court of Honour in 2013. Merv is currently Grand Master of the Third Veil for the Grand Chapter of Royal Arch Masons in Nebraska, and Eminent Grand Junior Warden, Grand Commandary for the Knights Templar of Nebraska.
Mervyn Moeller is a retired teacher, having taught high school instrumental music for 42 years. He has a Bachelors and Masters degree from UNL. He currently serves as an educational consultant and substitute teacher.
He has also taught Senior High Sunday school for 30 years, and has served as a Boy Scout Leader for 18 years and with the Teammates Mentoring Program for 12 years.
Brother Merv is a member of the York Rite in Lincoln. He is Past High Priest, Past Illustrious Master, and Past Commander of Knights Templar. He is currently a Grand Officer of Grand Chapter of Royal Arch Masons of
Nebraska. He is also a Grand Representative for Grand Chapter, Grand Council, and Grand Commandery of Nebraska. KYCH 2014. Companion Adept of the Temple 2013. York Rite Sovereign College of North America #138. Second General for the Red Cross of Constantine – Shiloh Conclave.
